首届中国新疆旅游形象大使选拔赛从8月1日启动到10月30日截止。本次大赛分两个层面进行:公众层面选拔赛将通过竞选的方式在南疆、北疆、乌鲁木齐地区的著名旅游景区、广场等确定三个区域分赛场。由专业评委、特邀评委等组成评委团,通过海选淘汰,客观公正评价和充分展示选手个人素质。其中南北疆赛场各产生25名选手,乌鲁木齐地区产生50名选手,进入复赛。最后通过决赛,由组委会组织评审组确定前10位,授予“新疆公众旅游形象大使”称号。名人明星层面:由组委会选出名人名单,经媒体投票,专家评选,直接进入决赛,确定前10位者,授予“新疆十佳最具影响力的旅游形象大使”称号。

自治区旅游局局长伊那木·乃斯尔丁说,举办首届新疆旅游形象大使选拔赛,是以活动为载体,通过全面展示具有浓厚区域特色的新疆多元文化,进一步挖掘新疆丰富的生态资源、人文历史、民族民俗底蕴,聚焦中外关注目光,凸显新疆文化旅游的独特魅力,推介新疆丰富的人文旅游资源,昭示新疆文化旅游的广阔前景,拓展旅游产业发展空间,展现新疆多民族青年的时代风采,使更多的人了解新疆、认识新疆、走进新疆。 大赛是彰显青春的舞台,是放飞激情的舞台,是实现梦想的舞台。赛事以“热爱伟大祖国、建设美好家园”为精神内核,以改变人生与超越梦想为赛事主题,将充分展示新疆青年“爱国、感恩、勤劳、互助、开放、进取” 的时代精神风貌。

自治区旅游局还将通过赛事,强化“四大文明交汇地”、“特种旅游胜地”、“摄影爱好者寻梦天堂”,“人类滑雪起源地”等新疆旅游品牌,用赛事助推新疆旅游核心竞争力,同时,新疆旅游的核心竞争力也将提升赛事品牌影响力和说服力,使赛事真正成为新的新疆旅游名片。
